 Dr. Robert Vieth November, 2008
Dear Parents and Students,
One of the major recommendations from last spring’s accreditation committee, (WASC), was for San Marin High School to develop a comprehensive assessment system that can be used to determine the success of our overall program. Our work, therefore, this year is to develop such a plan. This plan will include a variety of traditional measures that all schools monitor such as Grade Point Average, graduation rates, and the number of students who are eligible for the University of California and the California State University System. While all of this data is important, it is highly desirable for the school to review how students are proceeding throughout the school year, not just at the end of the year. |

 Ms. Pettis November, 2008
The class of 2009 is beginning the college application process. Students have received a copy of their complete transcript for coursework completed, including their rank in the class. With this information, questions arise about how class rank is done and what it really means in regards to the college application process, and also how our valedictorian and salutatorian are chosen. |

Mr. Casper November, 2008 Homecoming weekend was a tremendous success. Mrs. Fedoroff and Mr. Bergman did a fabulous job planning the weekend events and festivities. The students were well behaved and had an excellent time at the dance. The homecoming rally was particularly funny and spirited. The impressive victory over San Rafael High School made the weekend extra special for the class of 2009. The win also put our football team back in playoff contention.
